WATCH LIVE: Prime Minister Trudeau to provide COVID-19 update at 11:30 a.m.

First Published:

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will provide his regular update on COVID-19 on Friday.

His comments come as the country’s top public health officials deliver updated COVID-19 modelling data today during a briefing in Ottawa.

New infections have plunged in recent weeks, prompting the easing of restrictions in many areas.

But public health officials are continuing to warn about a possible surge in cases caused by COVID-19 variants.

Based on a study by two Canadian doctors, experts are now looking at whether one shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine could be almost as good as the recommended two.
