The cold alert had finally ended but the weather is still challenging for drivers at times.

Once again high winds and blowing snow were wreaking havoc on the roads in the Niagara Region Thursday. A woman lost control on Fly Road in Beamsville mid-afternoon after hitting a drift. Her minivan rolled onto its side but the woman managed to get out. Blowing snow remains a problem and police are reminding drivers to be careful in rural areas.
