Two teenagers are dead after a single-vehicle collision in Vaughan on Saturday night.

York Regional Police said the incident occurred on Teston Road near Kipling Avenue and Pine Valley Road.

A 15-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene while a 16-year-old boy died after being taken to hospital.

The westbound vehicle went off the road at Teston, west of Pine Valley at around 9 p.m., trapping six people inside.

Four passengers were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The names of the victims have not yet been released but police believe all were under the age of 18.

The York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are on the scene and asking any witnesses to come forward. Police say weather may have been a factor. “We are in a rural area here on Teston Road in the City of Vaughan. It is kind of rolling hills in the area. The vehicle itself left the roadway and is about 20 metres off the roadway through a number of trees,” Constable Andy Pattenden said at the scene.

Teston Road has been closed between Kipling Avenue and Pine Valley Drive and police said it will remain closed for several hours.
