U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died. She was 87 years old and died due to complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Ginsburg, also known as RBG, was a champion of gender equality. She was the 1st Jewish woman and the second woman justice ever appointed to the U.S supreme court.
Ginsburg died at her home in Washington surrounded by family.
The feminist icon was born in Brooklyn, New York, and attended Cornell University on a full scholarship at age 17.
She lead the legal fight for women’s rights in the 1970s and served 27 years in her nation’s highest court.
