Typewriters are making a comeback

When computers started popping up in homes and businesses, typewriters were replaced and became obsolete. But much like vinyl did, typewriters are making a comeback and one Hamilton business is the go-to place for everything typewriters.

Sigma typewriters on Upper James owned by 83 year old Nick Kadak is open 6 days a week.

“What else am I going to do? Suddenly the typewriter business come back from nowhere…there’s so many people liking antique typewriters.”

Kadak learned how to fix the machines in the 50’s and still gets excited when he finds a rare typewriter. If you need your old typewriter fixed, Nick is your guy.
