Two suspects sought in attempted robbery at Lime Ridge mall

First Published:

Hamilton police are searching for two men who tried to rob a mall jewellery store in the middle of the day.

Officers were called to Lime Ridge mall on Upper Wentworth St. shortly before 2 p.m. on April 20.

Police say two masked suspects entered the Peoples Jewellers store and attempted to smash the display cases with a small hammer.

The duo fled the store empty-handed and was last seen leaving through the parking lot in an “easterly direction.”

Both suspects are described as between 17 and 25 years of age. The first suspect is roughly six-feet tall, with a slim build, dark coloured eyes, short black hair, and a scruffy face. The second man is roughly five-foot-five, with a heavier build and braided hair.

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to contact Det. Cst. Ryan Komadowski at 905-546-8939, or Det. Sgt. Torrie at 905-546-2991.
