Update:

Hamilton police have arrested a 22 year old Hamilton man in connection to the home invasion earlier this week. He facing a a kidnapping charge, four counts of robbery, break and enter and assault with a weapon.  The man’s name can not be released until he appears in court. Bail has been opposed. The investigation is still ongoing as it is believed two other people were involved.

It’s the 5th home invasion in the city this year and it has some wondering if they’re connected.

Devin Howard is just 17 years old, he was shot in the arm and leg at his Eastbourne Ave home January 15th. He has had 3 surgeries so far with more to come and is taking his first steps with the help of a walker.

Three men broke into a house on Oxford street around 10, stabbing one man, beating up another, then demanding money. Detectives say they believe the victims were targeted. “There is no information that links these together in terms of the actual physical evidence or those who are involved. They are not copycats in anyway.”

Out of the 5 home invasions police have made one arrest in relation to the Myrtle street break in and say the motives vary.

If you would like to help Devin and his family you can visit their GoFundMe page.
