A scary scene played out at a downtown Toronto subway station Saturday night.

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed at the Sherbourne station at around 9pm.

Police have provided few details, but say the incident occurred on the station’s eastbound platform. A train was stopped in the station as part of the investigation. Witnesses reported seeing a man running away after the stabbing. Subway trains were turning back at Broadview station but service has since resumed.

Police are looking for a black man in his forties, 5′ 10″ tall with a medium build and long dreads. He has a patchy beard and was wearing a brown jacket.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
