Trudeau cabinet shuffle

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiled his new cabinet today.

He has shuffled six of his minister to new roles and added positions for five more.

MP Dominic LeBlanc has moved from Fisheries to take on Intergovernmental Affairs,

Montreal’s Melanie Joly moves from Heritage to become Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie.

Jim Carr, who used to be in charge of Natural Resources, now takes on the role of International Trade Portfolio and former Infrastructure Minister, Amarjeet Sohi,will take on the role of Minister of Natural Resources.

Carla Qualtrough moves from Public Works and Procurement Minister to Minister of Public Works and Procurement and Accessibility.

Former International Trade Minister Francois- Philippe Champagne is now Minister of Infrastructure and Communications.

Former Whip, Pablo Rodriguez is now Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism.

In a new role, Toronto’s former top cop, Bill Blair, has become the Minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction and Hamilton’s Filomena Tassi is the Minister of Seniors.

Montreal’s Pablo Rodriguez has taken on the role of Minister of Heritage and Multiculturalism from Joly.

Mary Ng has become Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion.

And Jonathan Wilkinson takes on the role of Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and Coast Guard.

Chrystia Freeland, Bill Morneau, Ralph Goodale, Navdeep Bains and Harjit Sajjan will all stay in the respective positions.
