Trump, FDA to notify physicians about unproven autism/Tylenol association

U.S. President Donald Trump announced Monday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration would be notifying physicians that the use of acetaminophen, brand name Tylenol, during pregnancy can be associated with a higher risk of autism.

President Trump says women should not take Tylenol during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary, in the event of symptoms such as fever.

Medical experts have said autism is caused by a multitude of factors, and the science linking the pain medication to autism is not definitive.
