TIFF removes documentary about Oct. 7 Hamas attacks sparking online conversation

The Toronto International Film Festival is just around the corner and a decision to remove a documentary from this year’s lineup caused a stir.

“The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue” was reportedly uninvited from the event.

“The Road Between Us” details one family’s experience during the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas.

TIFF pulled the film from its lineup over security and footage rights issues which sparked lots of conversation online, but there are nearly 300 other films that are scheduled to be screened at the festival.

In the statement released by TIFF, CEO Cameron Bailey says he’s asked the event’s legal team to work with the filmmaker behind “The Road Between Us” to consider all options available.
