USAID staff to be slashed by more than 90 per cent

The White House is moving quickly to dismantle the humanitarian initiative known as USAID.
On Tuesday evening, a directive was sent out to most federal employees within the agency, informing them they would be placed on administrative leave as of the end of the week.
According to a notice that was delivered Thursday night, it seems President Trump plans to slash more than 90 percent of the agencies 10 thousand workers.
The notice sent Thursday was obtained by news agency Reuters, who confirmed the President’s plan was originally to keep just 611 essential workers but the restrictions now face a lawsuit, which we’re learning is preventing a fraction of the employees from being put on leave.
