Fire affects over 1,350 flights at London Heathrow Airport

A fire knocked out power to London’s Heathrow Airport Friday, shutting down the facility and affecting hundreds of thousands of passengers before authorities announced a partial resumption of flights.

At least 1,350 flights to and from Heathrow were affected by the shutdown.

Later in the day, the airport said it would begin flights for stranded passengers, and hoped to resume operation on Saturday.
