Carney increases military spending target to 2025, not 2032 amid pressure from U.S.

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada will rapidly advance its military spending timeline to hit the NATO target of two per cent of national GDP in 2025.

The previous Liberal government had promised to meet the target by 2032 but all of the extra spending may not even be enough as the United States is now moving the goal posts, and asking allies to open up their pocket books even more.
