Canadian leaders hold confidence in Carney after Washington meeting

After leaving Washington DC without a new trade deal, Prime Minister Mark Carney still has the confidence of some Canadian leaders in ending the ongoing trade war.
Tuesday, Carney and key ministers sat down with U.S. President Donald Trump inside Oval Office again, and exchanged pleasantries that suggested agreements on steel, aluminium and energy could be made quickly.
Where Carney and Trump left off has energy leaders and Premier Danielle Smith enthusiastic about Canada’s prospects on trade.
Meanwhile, the prime minister also raised the idea of reviving the axed keystone pipeline, a project Trump was very receptive to during a private meeting.
