Canada learns opponents as FIFA World Cup 2026 draw completed

At the Kennedy Center in Washington Friday, the draw for FIFA’s 2026 Men’s World Cup got underway with celebrities, athletes, and musicians all taking part.

As the leaders of the co-hosting nations, Prime Minister Mark Carney, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum kicked things off.

The matches are set, 48 qualifying teams, including six still-to-be-decided playoff winners were divided into 12 groups.

Canada will play Qatar, Switzerland, and the winner of a European playoff in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
