The biggest night in country music did not disappoint.

From surprise collaborations to history-making wins, the 59th annual CMA Awards delivered moments fans will be talking about for weeks.

Country musicians took centre stage in Nashville Wednesday night.

Host Lainey Wilson cleaned up, taking home awards for Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Best Album of the Year.

Music commentator Eric Alper says country fans should keep an eye on newer faces like Ella Langley and Riley Green over the next year, as they continue to bring that old country feel to their music.
