Traffic cameras set up on Linc and RHVP in Hamilton

First Published:

Temporary cameras have been set up on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway (Linc) and Red Hill Valley Parkway (RHVP) in Hamilton.

The city says the cameras were installed on Sunday and will facilitate a transportation study.

The study will help determine the amount of motorists who use the parkways as a short-cut instead of using Highway 403 and the Queen Elizabeth Way.

“By capturing images of vehicles and license plates at either end of the Linc and the RHVP, the City will be able to track the number of vehicles that travel the full length of both parkways,” said city officials in a news release.

Digital cameras have been set up on the median and road side at the west end of the Linc and the north end of RHVP.

They will be in place until Saturday, May 4, 2019.

The city says the results of the study will be reported to city council in the fall of 2019.
