After two women tried to pay for a meal in Hamilton with a fake $100 bill on Wednesday, police are reminding people on tips on how to pick out counterfeit cash.
When in doubt police say to feel the bill. It should have a plastic texture, not rip and has raised ink. Second take a close look specifically at the holographic strip. Embedded in the window are leaves and numbers that police say are very hard to replicate.
Another unique way to identify a real bill, look through the transparent maple leaf, shine a light through it and the value should show up in a circle.
