Niagara Regional Police say a man armed with a weapon entered Tim Hortons on Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls shortly before 3 a.m. Monday and demanded cash from a clerk.
The bandit made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A suspect was arrested without incident a short distance from the coffee shop.
That same man was arrested last summer in connection with the death of Niagara Falls resident Michael Hindle.
Charged with robbery is 41-year-old Patrick Watt of no fixed address.
He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Watt was charged with aggravated assault in August in connection with the murder of Hindle but the charges against Watt were subsequently dropped in court.
The 47 year-old Hindle was found August 7th outside a bar on Ferguson Street.
He died in hosptial the next day.
Two other men were charged with second degree murder in the Hindle’s matter; 29-year-old Anthony Philip Lococo and 42-year-old William Burjoski.
They remain in custody.
Both Lococo and Burjoski also face first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of 36-year old Jason Pizzicarola.
His body was discovered in a home next to the bar several days after Hindle’s death.
