Tiger-Cats fire Head Coach

First Published:

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have confirmed that Head Coach George Cortez has been fired after only one season at the helm.

This comes after a disappointing year for the team that featured one of the best offences in the CFL, but only finished with a 6-12 record, coming in tied for last place with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the league.

Cortez joined the Ticats last January, after two seasons as a quarterbacks coach with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.

The search to replace Cortez will begin immediately.
