Three new measles cases were confirmed in Ontario on Saturday, two in Toronto and one in Niagara.

Dr. Valerie Jaeger, the medical officer of health for the Niagara region, says the 14-year-old girl from Niagara was confirmed as being infected with measles after tests Friday night.

Jaeger says the girl had not been vaccinated.

She says this case is linked to the first measles case in Niagara earlier this month.

However, it’s not linked to the outbreak that started at Disneyland in California.

Jaeger says the risk of an outbreak in the region remains low and it’s up to parents to report vaccinations to Public Health when they happen.
