‘This is life changing’ Oakville woman wins $1M jackpot

First Published:

An Oakville woman is still reeling after she won big on Lotto 6/49 earlier this month.

Michelle Ferreira, of Oakville, won the $1-million jackpot in the Dec. 7 draw.

“This is life changing,” said Michelle while picking up her cheque at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “It’s a shock, but a great one!”

The mother of one discovered she was a big winner when she checked her ticket at the gas station. “It was literally shocking,” she said. “It’s overwhelming.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K at the Esso on Appleby Line in Burlington.

The 31-year-old customer service worker is engaged and said the win will help her enjoy the holidays stress-free.

She plans to look for a new home, and possibly invest some of her win.
