Thieves sought in Best Buy break in: Hamilton police

First Published:

Hamilton police are investigating after a Best Buy store was broken into early Thursday.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Ancaster location on Martindale Cres.

Police say the thieves smashed the front window of the store and stole several Apple products.

The break in triggered the alarm and officers arrived on scene just three minutes later.

Police say the thieves were still loading the stolen goods into the back of a black, four-door sedan when officers arrived. The car quickly fled the scene with the trunk open and most of the items fell out and onto the ground.

Police gave chase to the vehicle but called off the pursuit after it because too dangerous.

Investigators did not say how many suspects they are looking for but did say they were all wearing black clothing.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact Hamilton police.
