Teens build toilet paper fort in Simcoe store, sleep inside

First Published:

Ontario Provincial Police says two teenagers are feeling “remorseful” after they built a toilet paper fort in a Simcoe store and fell asleep inside.

Officers were called to a store on Queensway East at 4:36 a.m. on Feb. 5.

Police say a 13-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy went to the store around 8 p.m. the night before and built a fort after they watch a prank video online of others teens hiding in a store overnight.

The pair ended up falling asleep inside the fort and woke up the next morning when they realized employees were restocking shelves.

The teens ran to a bathroom in the building in an attempt to hide but a staff member saw the youths and contacted police.

Officers arrived and say the teens were “very remorseful.” Police took them home to their parents and say no charges will be laid at the request of the store.
