Teen caught going 308 km/h on QEW in dad’s Mercedes

First Published:

A teenager has been charged after police clocked a vehicle going 308 km/h on the QEW in Burlington Saturday night.

Ontario Provincial Police say the driver only had a G2 license and another 19-year-old passenger in the car.

“This is absolutely egregious for anyone to be going these types of speeds,” said Sgt. Kerry Schmidt in a periscope video. “When you are going triple the speed limit, I don’t even know where to begin with that.”

Schmidt said this is the fastest speed he has ever heard of a vehicle going.

He said the car was impounded for seven days and the driver’s licence has also been suspended for a week.

The driver has been charged with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act and criminally with dangerous driving.

UPDATE: The teen is 18-year-old Noah Lauricella of Etobicoke
