Support rally outside courthouse

First Published:

A Port Colborne man facing charges for firing a gun at a group of men who firebombed his house had some of his charges dropped Wednesday.

Supporters of 53 year old Ian Tompson rallied in front of the Welland Courthouse. They say homeowners should be able to defend themselves with a weapon.
Tompson is still facing charges for careless storage of a firearm.
In August, four men were caught on surveillance video throwing molotov cocktails at Tompson’s house. They’re facing arson charges.
The case has been put over until April 11th.
