Thousands of people will flock to the streets of Hamilton this weekend for two big festivals taking place. Music and arts festival ‘Supercrawl’ kicks off tonight at 6pm and runs until Sunday night in the James Street North district. Headlining the festival this year is Toronto folk-rock group “The Strumbellas”, who takes the main stage Saturday night at 10:45pm. Other big names playing this year, are “The Trews”, “Fast Romantics” and “Matt Andersen and the Bona Fide”.
The Locke Street Festival also takes place this weekend, from 10am-11pm on Saturday. The annual event features food stalls, art vendors and live entertainment.
The following road closures will be in effect this weekend:
SUPERCRAWL:
· James Street, between King Street (north leg) and Strachan Street
Thursday, September 8 at 2:30 am until 4 am on Monday, September 12.
· York Blvd., between Bay Street and Hughson Street
Thursday, September 8 at 2:30 am until 4 am on Monday, September 12.
LOCKE ST. FESTIVAL
Locke St. S. from Herkimer St. to Canada St.
– Saturday September 10 from 10am-11pm
