One young man has died and another is fighting for his life after a car crash on Paramount near Upper Mount Albion Road in Stoney Creek on Friday.

At the request of the family, police cannot confirm the victim’s name. However, friends identified the victim as Tyler Torres.

Tyler was in the passenger seat of the BMW. Witnesses and friends say they believe the BMW was speeding, between 90 and 100 kilometres an hour, though police were not able to confirm the cause.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 48 year old Hamilton man, has been released from hospital and is in recovery.

Currently, no charges have been laid, but police said it is too early to know who is at fault and they also said it could take weeks or even months to investigate.
