PC leader Stephen Harper was speaking to a group of committed Conservative voters, who were invited to the campaign office of MP David Sweet. A small group of protesters gathered outside the headquarters, to complain about issues ranging from home mail delivery, to the Conservative governments handling of US Steel in Hamilton.

The Prime Minister did not address them, saving his remarks for a more friendly crowd inside the campaign headquarters. Those remarks repeated the same message we’ve been hearing since the first day this election campaign began – only a Conservative government can keep us safe from terrorists, and high taxes. “I’m asking you once again, for your support, to stay on this course. To keep us out of the hands of those who are simply not ready to govern our economy, and those whose ideas would raise taxes, kill jobs and wreck the economy.”

Mr. Harper repeatedly took Justin Trudeau and Thomas Mulcair to task, insisting that they will have to explain their policies to voters.

He did not take questions from any media while he was in Hamilton.
