Stabbing investigation underway in St. Catharines

Four people have been arrested following a stabbing in St. Catharines that happened around 5:30 a.m.

Police were called to a convenience store located near Welland Avenue and Geneva Street. When they arrived they found a man in his 20s suffering from multiple stab wounds. Following an investigation police determined that the stabbing happened at a residence on North Street near Niagara street around 10 minutes prior.

The man was later taken to the hospital. Police say his injuries are not life threatening.

The identity of those arrested will not be released at this time because the investigation is still ongoing.

Police ask anyone in the area that has security footage between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. to contact them at 905-688-4111, extension 1009964.
