Snowmobiler killed in crash near Tillsonburg

A 51-year-old man is dead following a snowmobile collision over the weekend.

It happened shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday in a wooded area along Baseline Rd. east of Tillsonburg.

Police have identified the victim as Todd Smith of South West Oxford Township.

Baseline Rd. between New Rd. and Wendy’s Rd. remains closed as the OPP Technical Collision Investigation Unit continues their investigation into the crash.

The Oxford County OPP are reminding all riders to plan ahead whenever operating a snowmobile as the frigid weather continues.
