SIU investigating Sunday morning crash

First Published:

Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is looking into a crash that happened early Sunday morning in central Hamilton, but little information is being released.

The crash happened at the corner of Wentworth St. and Wilson Avenue around 1am. There are reports a Hamilton taxi and a grey pickup were involved in the crash, but the SIU has not yet confirmed those details.

The SIU is called in to investigate when there is serious injury or death involving police, but it’s not clear why they have been called in for this case.

The incident does not appear on the Hamilton police portal on the web.
