Shots fired outside Burlington townhouse complex

First Published:

Several shots were fired early this morning at a resident of a Burlington townhouse complex.

Halton police say a man living at 895 Maple Avenue, across from Mapleview mall in Burlington, was the target of the gunfire.

The man told officers someone rang his doorbell at about quarter to five this morning, when he opened the door, he saw a vehicle parked on the street. Then he told police that several shots were fired at him from behind the vehicle. He went back inside uninjured, and the vehicle sped away.

Officers found two bullet holes in the man’s garage door, and a third bullet hit a truck and ricocheted into a neighbour’s garage door.

Police believe this is a targeted shooting, that may have stemmed from an ongoing dispute.
