Shipping company: U.S. Steel moving coke from Hamilton to Alabama

Ships have been struggling to get in and out of Hamilton Harbour for more than 36 hours now, because locked-out U.S. Steel workers continue to picket on the Burlington Lift Bridge.

It’s disrupting business at the Port of Hamilton, because customers cannot get their goods in or out. Members of United Steelworkers Local 1005 have been picketing to prevent U.S. Steel from moving raw materials out of the Hamilton Works. They say the ships are headed to the company’s American plants – something that seemed to be confirmed by the company that owns one of the ships. Scot Urquhart has more:
