A Welland couple has been charged after a man told police he was held against his will, forced to withdraw money from an ATM and sexually assaulted on Saturday.

The next day, police arrested 32-year old Dustin Madere and charged him with sexual assault with a weapon, robbery, kidnapping, forcible confinement and uttering threats.

Madere’s girlfriend, 24-year old Shiona Lyn Ryan has been charged with robbery. The couple made a court appearance Monday.
