Several arrested at Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School after fight

First Published:

Hamilton police say several arrests have been made following multiple fights at Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School Thursday morning.

Const. Krista-Lee Ernst said one student was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“Police remain on scene and continue to investigate,” Ernst said in an email to CHCH News.

Hamilton Paramedic Service Supt. Dave Thompson could not confirm the age and gender of the patient.

Officers were called to the school at 145 Magnolia Dr. shortly after 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Police said the high school was placed in a hold and secure as a precaution, but the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board has since lifted it.

Witnesses tell CHCH News there were two fights today one on school property, the other across the street from Sir Allan MacNab at a shopping plaza.

Investigators say a 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl have been arrested for assault.

The second incident involved another 16-year-old girl who was arrested for uttering threats and a 36-year-old woman who was charged with causing a disturbance. Police confirm that the 36-year-old was not a staff member of the school.
