Second COVID-19 related death in Ontario

An Oakville man in his 50s is the province’s second COVID-19 related death.

According to Halton Region Public Health the man had an underlying health condition and was being treated at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Milton District Hospital.

This news comes as the province has confirmed 43 new cases of the virus as of Thursday morning.

Updated numbers are expected Thursday evening.

Meanwhile Metrolinx says a person travelling on the route 40 GO bus has tested positive for the virus.

Officials say the person travelled from Pearson to Hamilton GO Centre on Mar. 12 at 6:10 p.m. 

The bus driver has no symptoms and is self-isolating as a precaution.

According to transit officials, the bus was removed from service and disinfected.
