We have an update now on the search for Hamilton’s next Police Chief.
Police Services Board Chair Lloyd Ferguson told CHCH News today that it is spending 25 thousand dollars on an outside consulting firm which specializes in police executive recruitment. It’s used the same firm, Odgers Berndtson, in the past.
Ferguson also confirmed the Board is only looking at the internal candidates right now and he doesn’t expect that the search will be any wider.
The job posting is expected in April – and the Board hopes to till it by the end of April. Ferguson says he expects at least the two deputies to apply. Eric Girt and Ken Weatherill are currently rotating as acting Cheif on a monthly basis.
