A large fire at a scrap yard on Harvester road near Appleby line in Burlington sent large plumes of black smoke into the air.
Several crews were called to the blaze at Burlington Metal recycling, which could be seen kilometres away.
Burlington fire say that the inferno consumed scraps leftover from appliances like fridges and stoves.
There were no injuries and the Ministry of Environment was on scene to investigate the area.
