The Royal baby has a name! Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was announced this morning, two days after her birth. Keir Simmons has more from London.

It’s a girl! Born early Saturday morning, the little princess – 8 pounds, 3 ounces – slept through her first big moment while her mom turned the hospital steps into a high-fashion runway.

“Please let me look half as good as Kate after after giving birth”, one woman tweeted. “This isn’t fair”, said another.

It’ll take Prince George some getting used to: sharing his parents and the spotlight with a new sibling.

‘Delighted’ grandparents Charles and Camilla, paid a visit Sunday, though Kate’s family – mom Carol and sister Pippa – were first to see the princess. Uncle Harry, away in Australia, says he can’t wait to see his niece.

London turned pink to celebrate. A baby sure to be London’s next trend-setter – some saying she could be worth a billion dollars to Britain’s retailers while being fourth in line to the throne.

Eve Pollard/Royal Watcher: “This Princess is the most powerful Princess we’ve probably every had.”

Camilla Tominey/NBC Royal Expert: “Diana would often say ‘let’s pop down to a burger bar, let’s go to a theme park'”

William and Kate are hoping their children have a normal childhood – or as normal as a prince and princess can have.

The name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. Charlotte is also the middle name of Pippa Middleton, Kate’s sister and Elizabeth is the middle name of Carol Middleton, Kate’s mother, so with this name they pay tribute to members of both branches of the family.

It is both a traditional name and a sentimental one. So many people will feel the sentimentality of the name Diana, after everything that William and Harry went through with the divorce and her untimely death.
