Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families with children in the hospital

First Published:

Tim Bolen visited a very special place this morning- The Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton is located right next door to the McMaster Children’s Hospital and is a great place for parents to stay while their children receive care.

Thirty-nine families call this place home and can have people visit them, celebrate special occasions and have a somewhat normal life while they are there.

Tim also talked Emma Peddle, who has been staying at Ronald McDonald House for a little over a year, which is the longest anyone has stayed. Her daughter Lily was born 34 weeks early and needed a tracheotomy and a GJ tube. She talked about how much staying at the Ronald McDonald House has helped her be near her daughter and how important this facility is, since it is basically her home right now.

Ronald McDonald House Charities are always looking for donations and volunteers to help keep them running.  If you would like to help, click here.
