Disgraced Niagara Regional Police constable Geoff Purdie has been sentenced to one year in a U.S. federal prison for smuggling smuggling half a million dollars worth of steroids over the border.

Purdie used his police badge to cross the border without being scrutinized. Lauran Sabourin reports Purdie shed some tears as the sentence was handed down in a Buffalo courtroom this afternoon.
