Robocop reboot shooting in Hamilton

First Published:

Several Hollywood stars could be on the streets of Hamilton for a movie shoot in the coming days.

They include Samuel L Jackson, Gary Oldman, and Joel Kinnaman. Scenes for the remake of the 1987 film Robocop are being shot in downtown Hamilton and people living in the area of James Street North should be prepared for more road closures.

Graffiti artists are tagging the side of the old drug store at Colbourne street, and at the front it appears that crews are setting up a restaurant set. According to reports this is all happening for an action scene. Restaurants in the area seem to be inviting to the film crew.

Shooting doesn’t actually begin until Monday night and there will be road closures. James from Barton to Cannon street will be closed between 6 pm and 7 am Monday to Wednesday. Filming will continue into the following week from Saturday, September 29th to Monday, October 1st.

Also starring in the movie: Michael Keaton and Jay Baruchel.
