Scientists say there’s a species of spiders that can hear, even though they don’t have ears.
Ogre-faced spiders are able to listen to sounds through receptors on their legs, according to a study published in the journal “Current Biology.”
They can detect sounds from at least two metres away.
Researchers found these spiders use these auditory cues to detect and capture flying prey, instead of building a web and waiting for their food to come to them.
The ogre-faced spider can see 2,000 times better than humans can at night.
They are tropical critters and are found all over the world.
