Quinlan a no-go and the Tiger-Cats open camp

First Published:

Kyle Quinlan will not be reporting to the Montreal Alouettes camp.

The McMaster Quarterback, whose list of achievements at the Canadian university level is longer than his passing arm, has decided not to report and instead has accepted a full time job at McMaster that could eventually include a coaching position with the Marauders. Kyle was not available to speak to us Wednesday. The 24-year old Hec Crighton Award winner was at the Alouettes camp last year, one of 7 quarterbacks, and was released. The Alouettes re-signed him in December.

But this is a good indication of how he fit into their plans; the Als had a rookie camp in Florida in April. Almost as an afterthought, they invited him two days before the camp began. Two days before his final exam. Quinlan didn’t go.

Also, we have two reports from the start of Hamilton Tiger-Cats training camp on Wednesday at McMaster.
