QEW fatal

A man is dead, after a crash on the Niagara-bound lanes of the QEW Friday afternoon.

Police say the man’s motorcycle ran into the back of a cargo van near the Woodward Avenue exit. The man was initially sent to hospital with critical injuries but was pronounced dead at the hospital,  the driver of the van was not injured.

Police closed all Niagara-bound lanes of the highway at North Shore Boulevard for several hours.  They were re-opened shortly before 6 o’clock.

The victim’s name has not been released, but police say he’s a 37-year old Burlington man.
