Purse containing urn stolen from vehicle in St. Catharines

First Published:

Niagara police are investigating after a woman’s purse containing an urn was stolen from her vehicle in St. Catharines.

Police say the woman parked her Jeep Cherokee in a parking lot on Welland Ave. at the corner of Court St. on July 3.

She left her black leather purse inside the Jeep and believes she locked the vehicle.

When she returned a short time later, her purse was gone.

Police say inside the purse was a blue velvet bag with a black metal urn that contained the ashes of the woman’s late husband. There was also a black leather men’s wallet with previously cancelled credit cards and a driver’s licence.

Police are hoping the public can help track down these items as they were very sentimental.

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to contact investigators at 905-688-4111, ext. 1024233.
