Protesters and police in Minnesota clash for a third night

First Published:

Prosecutors may decide on Wednesday whether to charge the white former police officer who fatally shot a Black man during a Sunday traffic stop near Minneapolis.

Brooklyn Center’s mayor says the city was getting ready to fire the officer, Kim Potter, when she resigned yesterday.

The suburb’s police chief, who has also resigned, said he believed Potter mistakenly grabbed her gun when she tried to pull out her Taser.

The death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright has sparked three nights of protest amid the nearby murder trial of an ex-officer charged with killing George Floyd.
