Private Juno

Tomorrow is International Polar Bear Day, and the newest cub at the Toronto Zoo is ready. Juno will be ready for visitors for the first time on Saturday.

Because she was born on Remembrance Day, Juno has been adopted as the mascot of the Canadian Army, and they’ve given her the rank of Private. Juno’s name commemorates the beach in Northern France where Canadian troops landed in 1944 as part of the D-day invasion.
